Congratulations to SHOC member Inès Glogowski on the successful defence of her PhD!
Inès defended her doctoral dissertation on 13 October 2026, under the joint supervision of Prof. Xavier Rousseaux (UCL), Silvia Mostaccio (UCL), and Anne Winter (VUB), as part of a cotutelle agreement between UCLouvain and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
Her research, entitled "Un objet qui intéresse l’humanité et la justice": occuper les lieux d’enfermement à Bruxelles et dans le duché de Brabant: espaces, acteurs et surveillance (seconde moitié du XVIIIe siècle), offers a fascinating exploration of confinement, surveillance, and institutional actors in the late eighteenth century.
