Noémi began her studies in History at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2022. Her academic interests include socio-economic and migration history, with a particular focus on the Middle Ages. She recently obtained her bachelor’s degree with a thesis exploring the inclusion and exclusion of migrants in small towns in 15th-century England, with an emphasis on the concept of belonging.
Having previously worked with SHOC as a student assistant over the past two summers, Noémi now joins the research group as a student-researcher within the framework of the Talent for Research programme 2025-2026.
Under the supervision of Prof. Bart Lambert, her research will contribute to an ongoing project on migration from the Low Countries to Italy at the end of the 15th century. Her tasks will include database development, the visualisation of research findings using GIS, and active participation in SHOC’s weekly research meetings and seminars.
